Society of Construction Law – Mumbai (SCL-Mumbai) is a regional chapter under Society of Construction Law – India. SCL-Mumbai has under its wing regions covering Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and Rajasthan. SCL-Mumbai aim is to provide a collaborative platform for legal professionals, engineers, project managers, arbitrators and other stakeholders engaged in the dispute resolution in construction and infrastructure sectors. Through conferences, seminars, webinars, debates, discussions and publications, we seek to encourage the development of legal thought, foster best practices, and contribute to a deeper understanding of construction law.

SCL-Mumbai was launched during the year 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic. During the lockdown, SCL-Mumbai held periodic webinars and covered vital topics pertaining to construction law by inviting subject matter experts. The webinars were well attended by Practioners from across the board. As Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa and other parts of western India witness infrastructure growth in Railways, Highways, Metro, Airport, Port & Harbour sectors, it is important to develop a pool of construction law professionals to handle disputes coming out these marquee infrastructure Projects. The objective of SCL-Mumbai is to organise seminars, training programmes, conferences to bring together lawyers, judges, arbitrators, project managers, experts, academicians, students to promote study, research in the field of construction law. SCL-Mumbai has successfully organised International Conferences in the years 2024 and 2025.

The objective of SCL-Mumbai is to organise seminars, training programmes, conferences to bring together lawyers, judges, arbitrators, project managers, experts, academicians, students to promote study, research in the field of construction law.
SCL-Mumbai held its inaugural international conference on construction law and arbitration on 4th May 2025 which was a successful event and it was decided by committee to hold conference every year in Mumbai. SCL-Mumbai’s 2nd International Conference on construction Law and Arbitration was held on 3 May 2025 which was also a successful event. In 2026, SCL-Mumbai is planning to organise two day conference.
Construction Law Club aims to bring together Advocates, Lawyers, Experts, Arbitrators, Contract Managers practising Construction Law and Arbitration by organising topical sessions pertaining to construction law be it Delay, Quantum, variation, Extension of Time, Price Escalation, Prolongation Cost, Liquidated Damages, Force Majeure and latest judgements related to it. The Construction Law Club will have its inaugural meeting at Khaitan & Co. Mumbai on 27 November 2025.
